About Us
Men of Men, Inc
Founded in 2017, MOM House is centrally located on Milwaukee’s northwest side, supporting young men between the ages of 17 and 21. Individuals will live in a semi-structured environment under essential agreements; expressing trust, respect, and support for each other. Young men will have an opportunity to interface as equals and talk openly about perspectives, beliefs, challenges, and achievements.
MOM uses a multicultural approach to assist individuals from all backgrounds who may have a number of different educational, economic, social, and mental health boundaries that may make it challenging for them to live independently. A large number of our potential residents will have been involved with at least one system of care during their life time, yet still lack the skills required for everyday living. Although a large number of group homes associated with DMCPS only provide short-term care, some older residents primarily those close to adulthood, eventually require a setting with a more transitional (Long-Term) and independent living focus.

MOM facilitates the My Choice program, which teaches youth tools to improve their cognitive thinking skills. The program was conceived with the intent to decision making and modify behavior. My Choice models positive decision making and helps individuals change their motivations through altering their belief systems and gives them ownership of their life.

The program goals are to help Individuals understand themselves and gain some insight about how their behaviors and thoughts contribute to their success, and better understand themselves. Individuals will learn to process their thoughts, identify and meet realistic needs, and use choice to make better decisions. In the role of an advocate, I am presenting the tools that increase the probability of independent living and community engagement. The objective is not to make an individual live independently, but to give them the choice to do so efficiently.

Hendriel Anderson, MS
Co-Founder
I am a Social and Civil Service Activist; earning a Master of Science in Education from Concordia University of Wisconsin, with an emphasis on Family Studies. As a Milwaukee Native, I have been advocating for children and families in Southeastern Wisconsin for more than twenty years. My philosophy is that the understanding of self and desire, creates better insight and improves self-efficacy. Everyone has a role and a responsibility in community building. I do not work in isolation; believing in the importance of collaborations and partnership building. My life’s work is driven by youth voices, families, and all those affected by trauma. Their adversity deserves compassion, dignity, privacy, and respect. Diversity, safety, and accessible services are fundamental to personal change.

I am a native of Madison, Wisconsin who now proudly calls the Milwaukee area home. I have been serving families in the Milwaukee County Human Service field for over fifteen years. I have worked as a supervisor in several areas of child protective services where I’ve had the opportunity to work with some of the most abused, neglected, underprivileged, and underserved children and families in Milwaukee County. I’ve also worked with the Behavioral Health Divisions Mobile Urgent Treatment Team working primary with suicidal and traumatized youth throughout Milwaukee County. I hold Bachelor Degrees in Sociology and Political Science and Master of Science degrees in Organizational Management and Mental Health Counseling. No matter what position I’ve held throughout my career I have always been a strong advocate and believer in the unlimited potential of the young men in our community. During my career I have witnessed countless young men age out of the system without the tools and skills needed to become responsible fathers, husbands, employees, and contributing members of society. As a husband and father myself, I understand that without empathic, nurturing, compassionate, confident, and skilled men there cannot be strong healthy families in our communities. I am committed to using my experience, education, and passion for service to help support and guide young people in our county.
